One never (REALLY) Graduates from OLE MISS... Right?

“There is a valid distinction between The University and Ole Miss even though the separate threads are closely interwoven. The University is buildings, trees and people. Ole Miss is mood, emotion and personality. One is physical, and the other is spiritual. One is tangible and the other intangible. The University is respected, but Ole Miss is loved. The University gives a diploma and regretfully terminates tenure, but one never graduates from Ole Miss.”

I could not think of a better way to state how I'm feeling right now! I love that quote so much that, as you can see, it's the title to this wonderful little blog! I'm one final away from being an Ole Miss Alum and instead of studying, I decided to chart this crazy journey by finally writing my own blog. Maybe people will read it, maybe they won't... but the idea of documenting this crazy life of mine as I start a new chapter just feels right.
Let me introduce myself, I'm Katie Grissom. As you now know, I am "about to be" a graduate from the SEC's best school (in my opinion), Ole Miss! Though our football program was nothing to brag about this year, as a true Ole Miss fan, I think next year will be our season! Come Thursday, I will join the workforce as a News Producer for NewsCentral in Macon, GA. It's kind of funny that I chose Ole Miss because it was so far from Macon, yet I'm returning to my old stomping grounds! I have not 1 but 2 loves in my life, Trey and Harrison. Before you think I'm into polygamy, Harrison is a 3 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I'm absolutely addicted to E! and my iPhone much to Trey's dismay! Personally, I think Trey and I would be the perfect candidates for "The Amazing Race" but that's just because I'd travel everywhere in the world if the option was there! I had the opportunity to spend January-June of 2010 in England, where I absolutely blossomed when I discovered myself. Yes, I'm one of THOSE people... While living in the UK, I was blessed with the opportunity to see many of my bucket list countries: Ireland, Scotland, France, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Germany, Austria and even good ole sheep-shaggin' Wales. Having a month off for Spring Break was by far my favorite thing about attending school in England in case you couldn't tell! Well... I guess I have procrastinated packing/studying, but I hope you enjoyed getting to know the person behind the blog!
Cheers to new beginnings!
